Update on our updates

As you may have noticed, we are behind on our blog posting

One of the reasons, is that we don't have any time! We thought we would have so much down time, between the time in the car, and the time at night at the camp sites. So not true. That's a good thing.
In the car there is so much to see as the countryside rolls by, changing from one terrain to the next. You can actually see the gradual changes occurring. From Arizona's arid desert landscapes, to Utah's red rocky mesa cliffs and Colorado's lush green hills with picturesque snow capped mountains in the background.

Neither one of us has slept a wink in the car, there is so much to see. We got a few blogs written when we passed through New Mexico. Now there is a place that there is not much to see. For miles and miles and miles it's flat, arid brown desert, with not a thing or even tumble weed to break up the monotony. (opinions in the car may differ on this, by the way, this is Yvonne, so while Daryl drove, I blogged)

Another reason we are behind is what I mentioned before, no time at the camp sites. We have been arriving either after hours so it's dark, we set up camp, make dinner and basically fall into bed. Or if we have arrived early, we set up camp and go do stuff, like hiking or visiting museums.  In Mesa Verde, we had an evening free and made a camp fire, cooked our dinner, sat out by the fire watching the flames, looking up at the stars, drinking our wine out of our awesome wine goblets that John lent us.(they are very thin plastic, no stems, and have a thumb indent on one side) Thanks John Sasinowski!

And the third and last reason is that the wifi sucks out here. One place we stayed at (coming up soon at the Pikes peak RV park) just laid it out plainly, they said, "we don't have wifi. Like so many other RV parks we used to offer it but it hardly ever worked and is down more than it's up so it's just not worth it."   That is what we have found. Most places say they offer wifi, but if you check in after hours you don't get the password, and depending on how far your campsite is from the wifi router you may not get signal at all. Then if you do, it goes in and out, dropping you off and you have to log back in. It's a pain, and you are sharing one connection with the entire park, so the speeds aren't exactly blazing. If we do have both Wifi and time, we are trying to plan ahead a few days to find camp sights.

I know the lack of updates makes it hard to follow along on where we are at in real time.
While you are waiting for new posts, You can go to the pod tracker website that Daryl posted in Day 2 or Three. I'll try to include the link when we have wifi again (heh).

We have 4 posts written and next time we have decent wifi (which may be coming up when we stay with my Cousin Tracie Linscott in Texas. Can't wait to see them all!

Know that we are having a blast, enjoying the adventures and rolling with the hiccups as they come.
Living Life and loving it,
The Foxes

  1. After listening to Daryl's African adventure after he got back, it is really cool to be able to hear about the adventure "as it is occurring" [baring technical difficulties]
I hope that you are both having a memorable adventures.
